I’m the heart behind Calm Assertive K-9 Training.

My journey with dogs began when I rescued my first Australian Shepherd, Kira. She opened my eyes to the depth of a dog’s love and loyalty, and from that moment I knew animals would always play a central role in my life. Since then, I’ve continued rescuing and working with Australian Shepherds- an intelligent, driven breed that taught me the value of consistency, patience, and clear communication. Along the way, I developed training techniques to better connect with my own pets and bring out their best selves.

Today, I share my home with Tater, a spirited Cairn Terrier, and Peaches, my loving Australian Shepherd. Training Tater showed me just how different terriers are from shepherds. It also led me to professional training and ultimately inspired me to turn my passion into a business.

I am an AKC Certified Canine Good Citizen Evaluator, specializing in obedience and behavioral challenges. My philosophy is simple: better behavior begins with balanced energy. By setting rules, boundaries, and limitations, I create structure that allows dogs to thrive and households to find harmony.

Clients describe me as calm, consistent, and in control. My goal is always to build trust—between myself and the dog, and between the dog and their family. Whether it’s walking, boarding, or private training, I’m here to help pets and their people experience the joy of a well-trained, happy companion.
